I had this thought. Imagine how magical it must have been to be by the side of Guru Nanak whilst in prayer, to listen to the very words of God being shared in the same breath. It would have had the highest of birds soaring down as quick as they can, forgetting they had wings. It would make man think they had wings flying in tranquillity, would it not?
This illustration imagined, showcases that very thought. Guru Nanak reciting prayer alongside their two companions, Bhai Mardana and Bhai Bala. I’ve seen countless paintings which have all held so much value throughout my life. I wanted to ensure my depiction was beyond reality; for this is how I would feel if I was in that very forest - floating.
